“From Trash to Treasure”: Empowering Women Entrepreneurs in the Zero-Waste Movement

Abstract

This study investigates the dynamic role of women entrepreneurs in the sustainable home goods sector, focusing on their impact, motivations, challenges, business practices, and environmental outcomes. Employing a comprehensive research methodology in South Tamil Nadu, we conducted interviews and distributed structured questionnaires among diverse respondents from various districts. Utilizing ANOVA, logistic regression, and t-tests, our findings reveal the significant influence of women-led initiatives on environmental conservation, circular economy principles, and the overall industry landscape. Logistic regression analysis unveils the intricate interplay of motivations and challenges in shaping women entrepreneurs' journeys. T-tests expose nuanced differences in business practices, highlighting the diversity and innovation within the zero-waste movement. Regression analysis confirms the positive environmental impact of women-led initiatives. The study contributes to the literature by providing insights into the multifaceted contributions of women entrepreneurs and recommends supportive policies for fostering sustainable entrepreneurship.
