Abstract

The Indian corporate sector faces a severe talent crunch. Companies spend vast sums on training, but evaluating the real return on this investment remains tricky. This study investigates the direct role training and development play in boosting employee performance across Indian organizations. The primary objectives focus on how skill enhancement impacts operational efficiency and overall job satisfaction. We gathered primary data from a random sample of 150 employees working in various sectors. The methodology relies on a quantitative approach. We analyzed the data using descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis to measure the relationship between training quality, training frequency, and subsequent employee performance. The results show a massive correlation. High-quality, continuous training significantly elevates both daily output and worker morale. Generic, once-a-year workshops do almost nothing. Employees value targeted learning paths that clear their daily work hurdles. Organizations treating development as a core business strategy retain their best talent much longer than competitors. The evidence clearly proves that effective training transforms raw capability into measurable, high-level performance.
