Employee Engagement and Organizational Performance: An Empirical Study of Selected Manufacturing Industries in Karnataka

Abstract
Employee engagement has become one of the most significant determinants of organizational performance in the contemporary business environment. Engaged employees contribute positively to productivity, innovation, customer satisfaction, and organizational commitment. Manufacturing industries, which operate in highly competitive and technology-driven environments, require a motivated and committed workforce to achieve operational excellence. The present study examines the relationship between employee engagement and organizational performance in selected manufacturing industries in Karnataka. Primary data were collected from 200 employees using a structured questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale. The study evaluates key dimensions of employee engagement, including job satisfaction, leadership support, communication effectiveness, training opportunities, recognition, and work-life balance. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. The findings reveal that employee engagement has a significant positive impact on organizational performance. Leadership support, recognition, and career development opportunities emerged as the strongest predictors of employee engagement. The study concludes that organizations should strengthen employee-centered HR practices to improve productivity, employee retention, and overall organizational effectiveness.
