Abstract
This paper presents an extensive descriptive statistical evaluation of the performance of the macroeconomic of targeted economies of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations over a given time timeframe of 2010-2022. The analysis looks at such important indicators as real GDP development, inflation rate, fiscal balance, and the ratio of exports to GDP, current account balance, foreign direct investment inflows. It is based on measures of central tendency, dispersion, higher-order moments and coefficient of variation, which allow assessing the dynamics of growth, macroeconomic stability and exposure to external section among six key ASEAN economies. Moreover, a Composite Economic Performance Index is developed with the help of the z-score standardization and equal weight to make comparison and ranking across countries. The results demonstrate that there is a lot of structural heterogeneity in the area. Countries with long-term export-oriented growth coupled with moderate volatility have an excellent performance overall, whereas the highly open economies are more vulnerable to shocks on the global economy. These findings indicate the need to have well-balanced development strategies that combine competitiveness in trade with macroeconomic stability. The research has a contribution value in offering an empirical baseline of systematic study in future econometric research and policy analysis in the ASEAN regional context
