Developing Football Team Selection Tests in Current Trends

Abstract

Tests of all types and directions have the greatest influence, however, on determining the level on the one hand, and on detecting strengths and weaknesses on the other. Thus, tests are the fundamental basis of any project and therefore keep changing according to changing circumstances and advances in science and technology. School sports tests are one of the most important basic sports tests, as they are the first indicator that a student has sporting talent. Since school sports competitions require a large number and quality of players to build competitive and more reliable sports teams to support clubs and national teams, it has become necessary to diversify and modernize these tests in line with scientific advances in various sports. From here, the researcher attempted to find new school sports tests that were suitable for each age group of students and for the sports and events held in annual school competitions and activities. The descriptive approach adopted in the study demonstrated the potential of the modern tests used in the study to bring out a clear picture of individual differences among students and to identify students who excel in football. The study concluded that the number of students pursuing various degrees in football is very high and their sporting future is bright, as they have the necessary qualifications to reach the highest level.
