Abstract

The increasing intersection between neuroscience and education has prompted a critical re-examination of traditional learning theories, particularly in the concept of learning styles. This paper explores a framework for bridging Neuroscience and learning styles to enhance prospective teacher education. While learning styles have long been used to address individual differences in learning, empirical evidence from neuroscience suggests that learning is a dynamic, multimodal process supported by interconnected neural systems rather than fixed sensory preferences. Drawing on key Neuroscientific principles such as Neuroplasticity, memory processes, and cognitive engagement, the study critically analyses the relevance and limitations of learning style theories within contemporary educational contexts. The paper further examines prevalent Neuromyths associated with learning styles and emphasizes the need for prospective teachers to develop neuroscience literacy and critical evaluative skills. A conceptual framework is proposed, integrating awareness of brain-based learning principles, application of evidence-based instructional strategies, and reflective teaching practices. This framework aims to guide teacher education programs in preparing future educators to design inclusive, adaptive, and scientifically grounded learning environments. The study concludes that an integrated approach combining insights from Neuroscience and learning theories can significantly enhance pedagogical effectiveness and support meaningful learning outcomes in diverse classrooms.
