Towards the preservation of our sacred heritage and to important knowledge to those who are interested in studying Vedas, it was found necessary to establish an Institution. Jagadguru Shankaracharya-Shri Pattabhiram Shastri Vedmimansa Anusanshadhan Kendra.

Late Pt. Pattabhiram Shastri was a renowned Sanskrit scholar. In recognition of his services several distinctions had been conferred on him including ’Padma Bhushan’ by the President of India. The U.P. Govt. honoured him in 1986 with an award of Rs. 1 lakh for his services to Sanskrit. Dr. Shastri donated the entire amount to the Kendra. Sent his benevolent blessings to Pandit P.N. Pattabhirama Shastri to establish an institution, which was named-Shri Pattabhirama Shastri Veda Mimansa.

Estiblishment: No place was better than Varanasi to locate this institution and the efforts of the founder, a distinguished and respected scholar in the country culminated in giving birth to the Veda Mimansa Anusandhan Kendra which was inaugurated at B 4/7 A, Hanuman Ghat, Varanasi in the year 1973 and registered as a society. Pandit Kamalapati Tripathi graced this inaugural function. This is a non—political, non-profit making academic institution devoted to furtherance ofthe cause of Sanskrit studies.

Forthwith, scholars formed a committee to execute the Kendra‘s work more efficiently. The Kendra- became a Registered Society in the year 1983.and has been run by an executive committee consisting of prominent scholars.

Anushandhan Kendra : Late Pt.
